Who is My Jesus? (song study)

This song, My Jesus, written by Anne Wilson along with Matthew West, is like a musical testimony for believers.  It speaks of Jesus as a guiding light, a source of strength, and steady presence in your life. And, as the song’s writer herself said, Anne Wilson, this song is a testament to the transformational power of Jesus’ love.

(Romans 8:28) 28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

If you are following Jesus, you have a testimony. 

When you are following Jesus, there is no such thing as a boring testimony. Because you are following Jesus, God is always working out this life for your good and His glory.

Jesus heals our brokenness when we yield and submit to Him. If you’re hurting, you can find healing through Jesus I dare you to…(turn to the person next to you and say “He’ll do for you what he’s done for me.”)

Jesus is a personal Jesus. And, when you have put your trust in Jesus you can call him My Jesus. And that’s all He wants most… your heart and a personal relationship. Will you give it to Him?

Gen. 50:20 As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good.

I’m, as the saying goes, “preaching to the choir,” here I realize by sharing this with all of you. But God’s laid this upon my heart and therefore someone out there (maybe someone online, maybe someone here today) needs to hear it. Is in need of hope, or healing, a savior, or a friend. Jesus is all of these… and more.

   Hallelujah is an interjection from the Hebrew language, used as an expression of gratitude to God. 

   Alleluia is the Latin form of Hallelujah, an acclamation formed by joining "Hallelu" (to praise) with the first syllable in a Hebrew name for God, Yahweh.

   We are fortunate that Hallelujah was passed down from Hebrew to Greek to English where it still maintains much of its original meaning today.

   The difference between Hallelujah and Alleluia is that the Hallelujah is used for joyful praise of the Lord,
